Taylor Wisowaty, LPC
Life can get tough, even feel hopeless at times, but confidential non-judgmental support is here! My name is Taylor Wisowaty, a Licensed Professional Counselor with Wellman Psychology and Associates. My credentials include a Master of Education in Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health from DePaul University, as well as a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University.
We will work together to identify therapy goals and take small attainable steps at a comfortable pace. Creating a safe, warm, and open therapeutic relationship is important to me.
You will be held in positive regard no matter what struggle or issues you may be facing. Every person is unique, offering different strengths and areas for improvement. Those strengths, when used properly, can be the keys to survival, success and most importantly happiness.
If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, numbness or insecurities, effective tools to decrease these negative feelings can be utilized. My therapeutic experience includes symptom management for mental health disorders, as well as relationship, sexual health, career, grief and heartbreak counseling for members of the straight and LGBTQ+ community. Sexuality and gender identity struggles are common and can be processed together, safely, and confidentially. I also work with couples for relationship/premarital counseling.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a passion for social justice and equality summarizes my therapeutic style. I do not have all the answers, but together we can explore options to lead you to those answers and maximize positive life experiences. We will check in with each other to see what is working and make changes as necessary. Permission will be requested to open conversations on tough topics and gentle confrontation introduced when needed.
What if you could feel happier, calmer, or more empowered? Scheduling an appointment with a counselor is the first step. I look forward to meeting you!
