DR. SAMUEL SAVAGE

The most important thing to know about me as a therapist is that I deeply value the relationship we build together. Therapy isn’t just about techniques or theories but about feeling seen, heard, and truly supported. I believe the most powerful part of therapy is creating a space where you feel safe to be your full, authentic self. Where you’re not just accepted but genuinely welcomed.

My style is often described as warm, collaborative, and compassionate. Sometimes that looks like validating what you’re going through; other times, it means gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you. However, this is always done in a way that feels supportive, empowering, and grounded in trust.

I work with emerging adults, adults, and older adults across all genders, sexual identities, and cultural backgrounds. I’m especially passionate about supporting people who are exploring their identities, seeking deeper insight into their relationships, dealing with substance use, or navigating personal and generational trauma.

I have extensive experience providing affirming, inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ communities. During my doctoral training, I was an active participant in the LGBTQIA+ Trauma Track, where I received specialized education in culturally responsive, trauma-informed care for sexual and gender minorities. Throughout my academic and clinical journey, this commitment has remained a central focus of my work.

Rooted in attachment theory and modern psychodynamic approaches, my work is always tailored to you: your history, your goals, your pace. I offer therapy that is trauma-informed and affirming, with deep respect for the cultural and systemic forces that shape our lives. At its heart, therapy with me is about co-creating a space where you can reconnect with yourself, heal, and grow into who you truly are.
