Dr. Phillipe Kleefield
I specialize in diagnostic, psychological assessment. I believe psychological assessment is a unique skill which can help clarify symptoms, inform treatment, and help access necessary supportive services. My approach to psychological assessment is both collaborative and person-centered, meaning that I consider your background, your experiences, and other sources of information to best understand your symptoms holistically. I have been trained in psychological assessment with adults, adolescents, and children. I can conduct psychological and psychoeducational evaluations.
Specific presenting concerns I can clarify include the range of clinical symptoms (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, personality dysfunction, learning disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and memory concerns.
I also have been trained in structured, evidence-based approaches to therapeutic work. Most importantly, I prioritize making sure that you feel validated, understood, and heard. From there, I primarily ground myself in cognitive behavioral approaches to therapy, also drawing from dialectical behavioral skills and approaches grounded in acceptance and commitment therapy. These skills are only useful in so far as they make sense in your life; therefore, I consider your unique background to understand how to help you meet your goals. I have experience working with a range of clients including LGBTQ+ individuals.
I graduated with my PsyD degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2021 and completed my pre-doctoral internship through West Virginia University School of Medicine.
I look forward to working with you.
