Nolan Foley, LPC (he/him/his)

Welcome! I am Nolan, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Allow me to share a brief overview of my background and the approach I take in understanding and addressing the impact of challenges and struggles we encounter throughout our lives.

I bring a multicultural perspective to therapy, shaped by my identity as a biracial French American. This dual heritage enriches my understanding of diverse cultural experiences and allows me to connect with clients on a

deeper level. I recognize the importance of culture in shaping one’s identity and mental health journey. By integrating this awareness into our sessions, I can better support you in navigating the complexities of your own identity within a broader societal context. I am proud to offer therapy in both French and English, ensuring that language is not a barrier to your healing process.

I believe that life's journey is always diverse, and I believe it can also be wonderfully intricate. Even with our best intentions, we often encounter challenges stemming from deeply ingrained habits, internal conflicts, and emotional distress. Past experiences can sometimes chip away at our sense of self, leading to feelings of fear—whether it’s fear of rejection, judgment, or a sense of purpose that feels just out of reach.

However, understanding these experiences is the first step toward healing and personal growth. In therapy, you'll find a compassionate and safe space to explore these feelings. Together, we can examine unhelpful beliefs and delve into the search for meaning, all while nurturing your connection to both body and spirit. Let’s work together to navigate these complexities and discover a path to well-being

As a therapist, I strive to create a supportive and positive environment that encourages exploration of your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. The therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance to me; I aim to be open and genuine with all my clients in hopes to form a true and trusting relationship. This relational style fits with who I am and what I believe necessary for effective treatment. It has been effective with marginalized populations, including racial and ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, women and gender minorities and the LGBTQIA+ community. My practice incorporates a blend of existential and humanistic modalities, tailored to meet your unique needs.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative endeavor. Together and united in a common goal, we can tackle anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and other life challenges; relatedly, we can explore all the feelings you experience functioning within a culture or subculture that can be divisive and even hostile at times.

I tend to be more of an engaging therapist that appreciates the interpersonal experience/relationship as a way of making sure that your strengths and your needs are highlighted and addressed. Trust is always an important component of the process and will, ideally, help you overcome the obstacles to achieve the desired outcomes. Clients often report experiencing a deeper understanding of themselves. Ultimately, my goal is to empower you to realize that well-being is within your grasp.

I look forward to hearing from you! À bientôt!
