Making the decision to begin therapy is really a decision to invest in yourself. So, good for you for taking this incredible step!
As a therapist, I aspire to help clients better understand the interconnectedness of their own lives and minds. Everything affects something else; let’s explore together how your life, habits, beliefs, and thoughts are either working for or against what you want to do and who you want to be. I believe that we have the power within us to accomplish our goals and live the kind of life we want—it’s my passion and my honor to work alongside you in the quest of self-discovery.
My primary goal as a therapist is to create a safe, affirming, and accepting environment for clients to just be themselves, to discuss their concerns, and to develop coping skills and a manageable, sustainable plan for moving forward. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, identity concerns, relationship issues or something else, I am confident we can find solutions together. Through an evidence-based approach, mixed with creativity and maybe a little humor, we can help you get the most out of your life.
I’m currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University. I am drawn to therapeutic techniques rooted in many theories, including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy. However, I also understand that each unique client will thrive best with an approach that is guided by and designed for them. I am also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and believe in the importance of social justice, activism and allyship.
My commitment to all clients is that I will always strive to be empathetic, attentive, respectful and collaborative in our work together. I look forward to meeting you!
