Marriage and Family Therapist

Welcome! It's lovely to meet you. I'm Athena-- a marriage and family therapist who is deeply passionate about creative expression and human connection. I am multiracial, queer, and a daughter of immigrants. I provide virtual and in-person therapy for individuals and relationship systems (i.e., couples, polycules, teen/adult child-parent, sibling-sibling, parent-parent), with a particular focus on BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and immigrant/first-generation communities. I invite my clients to intentionally explore the origins of their patterns, imaginatively ponder the future, and deliberately engage with the present as we work towards a more liberated and authentic life.

As social creatures, this work is relational and most abundant when we are in community with one another. We will explore the internal and external factors that impact our behaviors, relationships, and nervous systems through a trauma-informed, somatic, and strengths-based lens. Foundationally, I like to incorporate a social-justice-based approach to help us consider the systems that keep us stuck, ultimately designed to guide you and yours toward a more empowered life. My romantic relationship work also focuses on real-time processes to help my clients improve their communication and deepen their connection and desire for one another as we work towards their relationship goals.

We are all living this life for the first time and are composed of the wisdom of all who came before us. I show up to our work as my authentic self, intending to meet you and yours exactly as you are. Leading with curiosity and compassion, I support my clients in understanding themselves and their relationships as we create a roadmap for healing, together.
