LICENSED Clinical PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR
As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and therapist, I believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship in helping clients achieve their goals. I am devoted to creating an affirming, non-judgmental, empathic, and collaborative relationship with those I support. In our work together, we will seek to empower you to voice your experiences, derive insight and meaning from your struggles, and receive the support and practical feedback needed to thrive in the face of challenge, both large and small.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Professional Psychology (Counseling Practice) from Roosevelt University, and have 4 years of experience working in mental health counseling. I adopt an integrative approach in therapy, wherein therapy is tailored to each person’s unique needs; employing techniques and concepts from humanistic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic or insight-oriented therapy, and multicultural psychology.
At Wellman Psychology & Associates, I offer individual, couples, family, and group therapy. My specialties include:
Depression or mood disorders
Couple's or relationship issues
Career/stage of life issues
I am uniquely qualified to support members of the LGBTQ community in achieving their goals. Before joining WPA, I worked for two years in a local LGBTQ-focused private practice, where I had the opportunity to provide individual and relationship counseling primarily to members of the LGBTQ community. In addition, I graduated from the Sexual Orientation and Gender Institute (SOGI) at the Center on Halsted, where I trained. Lastly, I am an avid researcher with experience in the areas of interpersonal relationships, intimate partner violence, sexual identity, and LGBTQ mental health. I formerly worked as a Research Project Coordinator within the IMPACT Program at Northwestern University’s Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH).
