Dr. Lauren Villegas
My name is Dr. Lauren Villegas and I am a psychotherapist, yoga teacher (RYT-500), and Reiki Master at Wellman Psychology and associates. In my practice, I take a holistic approach to treatment, focusing on the mind-body connection and caring for each client emotionally, physically, and spiritually. My goal is to help clients find balance in their lives, and to start a process of creating positive, long lasting change in the areas the individual currently feels stuck. I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) certified clinician and use this tool for treatment of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and phobias. Additionally, I also specialize in LGBTQ concerns, relationship issues, and Borderline and Dissociative Personality Disorders. I was certified as a 200hr yoga teacher in 2015 and a 500hr yoga teacher in 2017. I utilize yoga in my work with clients to allow them to become aware of their personal mind-body connection and to develop a healthy relationship with the body. This can help ease anxiety, stress, depression, and pain. Additionally, it can lead to creating a better introspective relationship with, and understanding of the self.
I also offer Reiki Healing Energy treatments, right in office. I received my master certification in 2016 through CORE el Centro, located in Milwaukee, WI. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It has been found to be useful for management of chronic pain, migraines, gastrointestinal issues, anxiety/depression, postoperative healing, morning sickness, fibromyalgia, chakra clearing, and has been proven to speed up the healing of broken bones/sprains. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. This causes any negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, strengthens and heals energy pathways. If you would like to know more about me, or have any questions, you can feel free to reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org
